Reading bible stories can be scary!

My son received a children's bible for his bday! Today's story was about king solomon asking God for divine wisdom! Well, God gave him that and more! His first "case" was the story of two women claiming to be the mother of a baby. From what I understood, one of the women lost her baby during birth. Anyway so they go before king solomon and he orders to have the baby cut in half so they could each have a piece of the baby! One lady says go ahead! Do it and then the other lady says...NO!!!!give her the baby and spare the baby! King solomon then determined she must be the mother because a true mother wouldnt want to see their baby killed! Well needless to say the storytime took a wrong turn because the moral was, ask God to give you wisdom over riches and you will prosper and well...my son only wanted to hear more about the baby being cut up and why would a mommy do this, on on...he was getting upset and I was trying to explain it in a different way and well...Note to self, skim all stories and books BEFORE reading them to your children! LOL!!

Calling all Cars! Calling all Cars! My brains are GONE!

Have you ever had something to happen to you and all you can do is LAUGH to keep from CRYING?

I took a friend to the doctor's office the other day.  I drove to MCD's across the street to get lunch for me and the kids (don't judge me) and while we were sitting in the car eating, jamming to the music, my friend sends a text that she's ready to get picked up.  OK...no problem, start up the car and CLICK CLICK CLICK.  NOTHING!!!!

The car won't start.  Ok, no biggie.  Let's just turn off the music, wait a few seconds and start the car again.  Again, CLICK CLICK CLICK!  NOTHING!

All of a sudden DJ starts CRYING!  Call DADDY!  CALL DADDY!

Ok, why am I going to call DADDY?  He's all the way across town at work.  I am going to get someone to give me a jump.

In the middle of all the fun, Anna B calls me and I just burst out laughing.  It's the "nervous" I am about to have a breakdown kind of laugh and she immediately asks what's wrong!

That's when I told her what happened and we both just BUSTED up laughing.  Like really what do you do in a situation like this HUH?  LOL!!!!!

During all of this, my friend calls me on the other line to say she's still outside waiting.  OOPS!  You are going to have to walk over here because my car won't start!

In what seemed like the heavens opened up, I look up to see I am a parking lot distance away from an auto shop!

NO BRAINER!  Hey Anna, hold on, wait, hang up, I will call you back.  I think I hung up.  Not sure, Can't remember at this point and then I call over the road to ask if I can get some help.  He immediately comes over, give me a jump with his portable battery and asks me to check if my lights were ON the entire time.

I go to check for the light switch and OMGOODNESS!!!! Yes, the lights were on the entire time.

Sheepishly I look up at him and apologize for my CARELESSNESS and he says oh no problem, it happens all the time.  I am just happy I was able to help.  Then he walks off!  GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I forgot to get his name and the name of the Auto Center.  That's OK.  I will call MCD's and ask them to look out the window for the name of the Auto Center.  I will definitely send them a Thank You Card and a GC to pick up some lunch!  So there you have it.  That's my one of many running out gas stories.  What's YOURs?  Please, SHARE!  I need to know that I am NOT all ALONE here!

She's Knocked Out!

My friend came over this morning to help with hemming my formal dress for the Marine Corps Ball. Gracen was into everyting! Climbing on the table, pulling down things from the bookshelves and anything else you can think of. I kept saying, I need to hurry because she's ready for her nap. By the time we finished up the hemming prep, I went in the kitchen to warm her milk cup, came back in the family room and look at her... That's why she was falling out and getting into everything! She was tired! Too Funny!!!! Happy Friday Everyone! Do something fun tonight!!!

Filtrete Elite Allergen Reduction Filter Blog Tour!

My allergies are killing me!  The weather is crazy, I am still confused about the temperature to keep my AC tuned and now that the seasons are changing, it's major ALLERGY ALERT season in our home!  I am very concerned about the air that we breathe in our home.
When I received the perfect opportunity to join the blog tour and tell all of my readers about the new Filtrete Elite Allergen Reduction Filter from 3M, I jumped at the chance.
For nearly 25 years, Filtrete filters have delivered cleaner air to millions of homes,
becoming a leader in residential air filtration. As a result, Filtrete is the most trusted brand* of indoor air cleaning filters on the market today.
*=*Based on 2009 Burke Brand Health Tracking
Here are the very cool facts about the Filtrete Elite Allergen Reduction Filter from 3M:

  • Captures 94 percent of large airborne particles such as pollen, smoke, dust mite debris and pet dander from the air as it passes through the filter
  • Captures up to 40 times more microscopic particles than ordinary fiberglass filters
  • Helps maintain airflow in heating and cooling systems, which may help prevent stress on the system and reduce the amount of energy needed to warm your home this Fall and Winter
From the website:
About Filtrete Air Filtration Filters:
All Filtrete™ Air Cleaning Filters are electrostatically* charged. As air passes through the filter, airborne particles are attracted to and captured by the filter’s pleated fabric. Our electrostatic filters capture both large and small particles**— down to 0.3 microns in size.
This is different from fiberglass, washable, and non-electrostatic pleated filters, which have no charge. Without electrostatic properties, these other filters can’t capture the smaller particles as effectively.
It’s a fact: Filtrete filters outperform all fiberglass, washable and non-electrostatic 1″ residential air filters. Our premium filters help remove allergens from the air, including smoke, smog, and even microscopic particles that can carry viruses, bacteria and odors.**
Read more by visiting: www.filtrete.com
Be sure to visit the Filtrete website for the current special offers, mail in rebates, review submissions, daily sweepstakes and a chance to win a 2011 Ford Fiesta!

If you decide to try out the new Filtrete Elite Allergen Reduction Filter from 3M please, let me know what your thoughts were of the product.  You can purchase the filters at your local major retail stores like Walmart or Target!

Disclosure: “I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Filtrete and will receive a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.”

Day Two of... areyoukiddingmerightnow

My son is home "sick" from school. To be honest, I don't think he's sick! He faked coughed so hard he just barfed on the couch! Seriously! On the couch DJ? Nice! I get the point! LOL! He pulls anything to make an excuse not to go to school. This is very exhausting! I am keeping him home from school today just to be safe and sure he's not sick. This is everyday where he wakes up crying saying he's sick! I know it's because he doesn't want to go to school. He's only in kindergarten! Is this what's to come in years on down the road? I am very worried about this kid.

Are you kidding me right now?

If this is any indication of the outcome of my day, I am going back to bed! My alarm went off and my body didn't want to move. I try my best to get up before the house so that I am up and ready to start the morning routine with a cheerful attitude. It doesn't always go that way but, for the most part, it helps a great deal. Today began with turning on the wrong stove pilot for my morning coffee which meant I was delayed in getting my jolt for the day! Then my son woke up with a million reasons on why he shouldn't go to school today. The best excuse was he should stay home to help me with Gracen! Yeah right buddy, I am on to you! Off to school you go! Question: how's the flow of your morning routine? Are your kids generally in a good mood excited to go to school OR leaning towards the side of my sons feelings about going to school?

We need this in Pensacola! Park&Carousel

We need a park like this in Pensacola! What is up with mostly all of the parks here in town without shade? So far the only park I've come across is the one over on J street. Hopefully there will be other parks in the area that will be built to provide shade, protecting and shield from the sun and other elements. To the City of Pensacola, Time to get with the program! Thank You!
