I need a reclining umbrella stroller.Aww

We were at the mall yesterday and baby girl was sleeping soundly! I couldn't help but to wonder if there are any umbrella strollers on the market. She looked so peaceful but, I was worried that her neck was uncomfortable. Babies are resiliant and can sleep through anything!

I am on a roll. Corn that is!

I have been trying new styles for Gracen's hair.

Here's her new style for the next couple of days.

I used african pride super gro hair grease for her scalp parts!

How does it look?

I need to learn how to make smaller parts!

I was rushing! It's past everyone's bedtime!

Time from start to finish: 30 minutes.

I love the CLEARANCE section!

Extra 20 percent off just for asking if they offer any sales! WOW! Closed mouths will NEVER get fed!

A child's imagination/perception.

Today's workbook assignment (yes, we do learning activities on the weekends too) was to identify the items that belong on land, air and sea. Directions: Circle land X the sea Underline the air He circled and underlined the airplane, hot air balloon and boat. I asked why he circled and underlined the items. He said because airplanes, hot air balloons and boats go on land and in the air. Well, I couldn't argue with that logic. I smiled and gave him a star on the page. We can all learn from the imagination and perception of children. Question: What was the last thing you learned from your child?

Guinness World Records Activities and Records to Debut in Chick-fil-A Kid’s Meals

Guinness World Records Activities and Records to Debut in Chick-fil-A Kid’s Meals

Activity, Creativity Encouraged with Record-Breaking Games and Challenges
Chick-fil-A® is partnering with Guinness World Records® to challenge children across America to set their own records this summer. Available from July 26 to Aug. 28, the series of five activity-filled Guinness World Records® packs features “Do Try This at Home” challenges, intended to promote fun parent-child interaction and active playtime with friends.

“We hope reading about the Guinness World Records achievements and attempting some of the fun activities will inspire kids to strive to set their own records in life,” said Angela Savage, Senior Kids & Family Marketing Consultant for Chick-fil-A, Inc. “The warmer summer months are the perfect time to encourage children to be active and get outside to play with their parents and friends.”

The five Kid’s Meal items include:
  1. A collection of Guinness World Records cards containing world records set by animals. Each card includes a tangram on the back. Did you know the tallest living horse is Radar, measuring 6.5 feet tall without shoes?
  2. A Guinness World Records sports and games booklet, including world records broken by athletes around the world, as well as two score wheels to track “Do Try this at Home” challenges. Did you know the longest distance leapfrog was performed by 14 students who covered 996.2 miles?
  3. A 30-second timer to help you perform the “Do Try this at Home” activities, such as “how many jump-rope skips can you make in 30 seconds?” or “how many golf balls can you hold in two hands for 30 seconds?”
  4. A set of cards on a ring that contain Guinness World Record holders and corresponding challenges. Maxwell William Mobley, 7, became the youngest registered entrant in a Wild West Arts event. The “Do Try this at Home” activity suggests children make a race course around the yard and race a friend to see who can gallop through the course the fastest.
  5. A booklet of Guinness World Records hobbies and pastimes with related “Do Try this at Home” challenges. Chick-fil-A Operator Arthur Greeno set a record in 2008 with the largest cup of lemonade. The cup contained 834 gallons made from 11,730 lemons!

WHEN:The materials will be available in Chick-fil-A Kids Meals from July 26 to Aug. 28 (while supplies last). Children who receive the same activity twice can exchange the duplicate for another activity during the five-week promotion. After the promotion, parents can order toys online at www.shopchick-fil-a.com as long as supplies last.

Disclosure:  I received the Guinness World Records Activities and Records Chick-fil-A Kid’s Meals activity set for my review.

Sonic Happy Hour! Let's GO! Sidenote: I miss IN and OUT Burger! *sigh*

Writing a book seems to be a lot of STRESS!

I have been thinking a lot lately about writing a book.

The time, effort, commitment and energy it will take to write the book scares me.

While at the store, I noticed a $1 bin of books.

Thinking about how much $ it would cost to write, publish and advertise a book, I am not sure how I would feel knowing my book would be sold for $1.00.

Maybe I am missing the "big" picture here but, if I were to write a book, I would hope to at least break even with a little change to take my family out to dinner to celebrate the book's success.

Please, correct me if I am wrong. Writing a book would cost about $1,000 from start to finish. Right? Wrong? Please, clarify.

How would I be able to re-coup my costs if my book ends up in the .
$1 bin at Wally World?

Questions: Have you ever written a book?

What is the title and author of the book?

What were the steps you took?

Please provide any advice on how best to get started with writing a book.

Thank You.

Two Strand Twists!

I met a really nice lady at Chick Fil A last week. While our kids were playing in the play area, we struck up a conversation about hair!

Her daughters hair were so cute and I wanted to know how she styled their hair. I am so HAPPY I asked her advice. She suggested two strand twisting Gracen's hair.

This is a really nice and low-maintenance style that will last for a few days and will allow her hair to rest in between styling.

I went online to see how-to videos and it was the best start ever.

BEFORE:

If you're curious on how to do just about ANY and EVERYTHING under the sun, this is a really great site HERE.

As you can see, I am a newbie at all of this and this is my first attempt. Not too shabby if I can say so myself.

Note: Before attempting this style, Be sure hair has been washed, conditioned and dried. Or you can style hair in semi-wet condition.

AFTER:
Tools used:
1. Wide Tooth Comb
2. Pink Hair Lotion (most of the videos suggested hair gels, shea butter, etc...) Feel free to use whatever product you like best.

From start to finish, the two strand twist style took about 20 minutes. I know, I know, I am a slow twister!

Question: Do you have any suggestions for styling this type of hair? Please, share. Thank You.

Ebeanstalk-Toy Website Review.

I am always on a mission to find toys that will provide an educational piece along with fun. We were sent a Geometric Puzzle for Gracen to try out. When she was only 9 months, her coordination was slowly but surely coming together. Now that she's 13 months, we are looking to expand her educational but, fun toy collection.

Ebeanstalk is a toy website that does their best to provide you with the best toys out there. They like to stay informed about the best learning toys and toys by age by having people like me and you tell them about their favorites!

The best part about their site is an easy to find age breakdown of toys and materials by Gender. It's very helpful when looking for a specific type of toy and want to do a quick search. I have my eye on The Little Toy Company Activity Table. This toy will give her a chance to discover how to spin, balance, tap, chase and push the colourful balls.  Another cool toy would be the TableTop Easel for her to sit at the table while I am helping her brother with his daily lesson, baby girl can get to work on the latest artwork masterpiece.

What are the perfect baby gifts? Does your child have one toy he/she just won't put down? Head on over to Ebeanstalk and tell them what they are!

you should feel "lucky" that your husband keeps the kids

Discussion of the week!
As a wife & mother, you should feel "lucky" that your husband keeps the kids so YOU can go to MNO!
Why?
Because NOT every wife or mom is lucky to have a husband that keeps his kids!

*REPOST*--The breath of life

DJ picked flowers for me when we went to the mall last weekend. He put them in one of the shopping bags and remembered the next day they were in there. Of course when I took them out, they were withered and dead. DJ was crushed. I took a chance and said let's put them in a little baby food jar and see if we can bring them back to life.

Crossing my fingers the next day look at what greeted us! I am bummed that I didn't get a before pic. You would be amazed what they looked like BEFORE this. He was so happy!

This was a life lesson. Just because something appears to be dead, if you have a little faith and determination, it just might be brought back to life. Thank you God for the life lessons learned.

We are definitely going to come back! If you're looking for a family friendly event, The Gulf Coast Exploreum-Mobile, AL is the place to go! The trip is one hour from Pensacola, FL.

Get Paper Plates! #ihatewashingdishes

I am seriously over washing dishes! It's not one of my favorite household duties. Who am I kidding? What household duty is ever fun? Well, I'm sure there's someone out there that just LOVES all things housework. I am NOT one of them. It gets done because I don't like a dirty house but, mark my word, the minute I hit it big, a housekeeper and nanny will be hired! What? You think I'm kidding? NOPE! Not kidding at all. I am seriously considering using paper plates and plastic utensils from now on! Seems like there's always dishes and laundry to be done. I wonder if there's disposable clothes and pots on the market! Don't mind me, I'm just venting! *sigh*

Carseats are lullabye tools!

Doesn't matter how long the trip, she almost always falls asleep in the car!

Seemed like a good idea at the time!

I have been spoiled! It's all Danyelle's fault! The way it works, I will usually remove the covering to wash it and Danyelle would re-assemble it. Well, since she no longer lives at home, we've had to fend for ourselves! I'm thinking of "bribing" her on moving back home. We can't live without her! I will be the first to admit it. HELP!!!!!
