| Daily Update: DJ jad a nice first day of school. I was proud of the lunch I sent him with. He didn't like it. He said he only ate the pretzels and drank the juice. Lunch: pretzel sticks, fruit slices, turkey/cheese sandwich Thumbs down in his book! My new idea was to ask him what he wants for lunch and he said nothing. Well excuse me! Lunch is important. You can't survive on air. Help! What are some lunch ideas you can share with me? |

Maybe you can try making a wrap. Instead of bread, use a tortilla. Maybe rolls would work. He will figure out as time goes on what he wants in his lunchbox. My kids are teens and I still go through lunchbox woes! Everything is still very new for him so give him a little time.
I am in need of ideas also. Mari takes his lunch every other day and I have simply ran out of ideas.
Make sure it is not the fact that the other kids are eating lunch provided by the school. My now first grader wanted to bring lunch all the time because her friends did. I had her eat at school. She is so picky and most places have this thing against peanut butter that I just let her eat there.
Other than that, the wrap idea is good.
My 4 year old is the worlds most picky eater. Lately I've been striking gold with a peanut butter and Nutella sandwhich (she loves it so much that she'll even eat the crust). I also do baby carrots, celerey, cucumbers, pickles, olives, and cheese sticks as easy additions. Also a big hit with my girls is home made lunchables. The night before they help me cut out shapes in the cheese and whatever cold cut meat they want. Then I add two cookies and round crackers and they love it. Another silly meal I make them are tiny meatballs. On the weekend I make a big batch of home made meatballs and I make them tiny (bite sized), cook em' and then freeze em'. You could warm them in the morning and they'll be room temp when they eat em'. I have some more things but I won't bombard you with everything. Let me know some foods he enjoys and I can give you a ton of ideas. If you want, let me know and I can send hubby to work with a few of my fav kid friendly recipe books for you to browse. Good luck Mama, one more year and I'll be in he same boat.
