I have been experiencing such a great high lately that I have been trying to contain my excitement before I could complete my mission. I decided to post about what's going on with me right now because I have a feeling a lot of my readers would be interested in joining in on this great adventure.
I came across THIS WEBSITE-29 GIFTS and it spoke directly to my heart. The premise is quite simple. Give away 29 things in 29 days. Without hesitation, I sat down and made a list of 29 people that I would like to bless with something. The "something" wasn't really clear, I just knew that I wanted to touch at least 29 people in one month. I haven't been able to cover my list in this timeframe but, I am not going to give up until my list is complete. I have other commitments (family and things to do around the house) but, I am focused on completing this mission. I am working to get this list completed and I have to tell you, it feels really good to touch people in a positive way.
Most of the items are things that I already have so this hasn't been a harsh added expense to our family budget. The premise behind this giving isn't to cause anyone to go into debt to give. It's intended to do something good for the people around us. The best part is when the person receives it, they are completely surprised and delighted to receive something in the mail other than a bill.
Most gifts are things that you don't have to go out to the store and purchase. If you're a crafty person, the possibilities are endless.
If you would like to get in on this outstanding adventure, Here's a sample email you can send out to your family and friends.
I recently joined a worldwide giving movement called 29 Gifts--there are more than 9,000 others involved in 38 different countries. We are raising our collective voices to revive the giving spirit in the world and I hope you'll join me today. Our community has accomplished so much in just one year:
• We helped California 29 Gifts member Elysia Skye fund a much needed cancer-related surgery
• We sent Mbali Creazzo, our 29 Gifts Spiritual Advisor, on a humanitarian singing tour in South Africa, where she and her choir performed privately for Nelson Mandela and raised funds for lots of worthy causes
.
• We helped Charity Water build a well that will provide clean drinking water for an African village for decades to come.
The Challenge is so simple. Just sign up at 29Gifts or http://www.29Gifts.org and commit to give away 29 gifts in 29 days. Your 29 Gifts can be anything given to anyone... money, food, old sweaters, smiles, your time, kind words, positive thoughts, prayers...
WHY SHOULD YOU DO THIS? To inspire more generosity on our planet. Because to see our world change, we have to do something to change our world. Plus, the best way to attract abundance into your own life is to be in a perpetual state of giving and gratitude.
We believe there is strength in numbers, so we want to have 29,000 committed 29Givers on board, which is why I hope you’ll say "YES" and join with me to offer your own gifts to the world. This means we need to inspire 19,000 more people to sign up for our 29-Day Giving Challenge right away to reach our goal.
Visit http://www.29Gifts.org today and sign up to start your giving!
Thanks!
P.S. Be sure and pick up the new book by 29 Gifts Founder, Cami Walker. It's on sale at Amazon.com now. The title is 29 Gifts: How a Month of Giving Can Change Your Life. Cami's memoir is inspiring, uplifting and well worth the read.

One way to be a Cheerful Giver is to provide a toy-filled birthday bag for a child living in poverty on their birthday. Visit www.cheerfulgivers.org for details.
I guess I was doing this and didn't know it! :)
The end of February I sent two separate surprise gifts and both recipients called with delight.
Another small package is going to be shipped this week.
As a family, we've given to Soles4Souls and we're sending Health Kit as well to be distributed through UMCOR.
This Lenten season I’m focusing on giving. I have so much to be thankful for!
