I am not sure if I am particularly sensitive about this topic or what but, recently I have encountered a few situations that have made me stop short in my steps.
It seems that most people tend to do a double take to confirm her gender. I can be strolling in the market and someone will pass by and say oh he's so cute, oops I meant she's so cute. No problem. I should be thrilled someone even took the time to greet us I suppose.
What I find so interesting about these situations, I don't make it a point to even show my baby off. She's in the stroller, we're on a mission to get things done and wouldn't you know, someone has to stop or slow us down. No problem. She's cute. I know this. Haha!!!
The lady at the market that told me babies doesn't need shoes. No problem. Keep it moving.
When she wears blue, she's becomes a HE's so cute. No problem. Keep it moving.
The most recent funniest thing that happened last week. I was signing in baby girl at the church nursery. Told the worker her name and she said, Gracen? Isn't that a boy's name? I mean really how do you respond to that.
Needless to say, I did a quick google search HERE when I got home and wouldn't you know? It is indeed a boy's name. You have admit the COMMENTS on the post is HILARIOUS. It's a GOOD thing we came up with the name the night she was born OR these posts might have swayed our decision. NOT!
Start Sarcasm
SHAME on us for giving our baby GIRL a BOY's name.
Dress her in pink every single day for fear of gender confusion or else!
End Sarcasm.
Honestly, She wasn't being rude. She just wanted to let me know I gave my GIRL a BOY's name I suppose. *sigh*
Quick Glance at her. Boy or Girl?
I can see how someone might think Boy because she's wearing blue. Whatever!
I knew we should have named her Sha Quay-Quay.

well.....i LOVE her name!
NO the worst is when you baby girl has earrings in her ear and people still say he is so cute.
No matter what gender Gracen is classified as it is a pretty name for your pretty GIRL!!
Gracen is a boy's name???? WOW!!!!!! Never would have guessed that! Totally lol @ Sha-quay-quay. Um, you know somebody out there has that name!!!!!
IMHO, I think Gracen is one of those names that could go either way, like Reagan/Raegan. My son's best friend's name is Grayson, but the way that you've spelled it is very feminine and I love it. And as far as the pic you posted - she is so feminine - look at those lips! Although, I do like Sha-Quay-Quay . . . maybe a good nickname?
Looks like a girl to me. The eyebrows and cheeks led me to this decision. We must be alike cause Gracen sounds like a girl's name to me, as well.
I stumbled upon the name "grayson" a couple of months ago and thought of you. Honestly, I had never heard of it before (spelled either way). I love her name!! So what if the masculine version is more popular....yours in unique!
And I feel you on the gender thing...Kali ALWAYS gets called a boy even if she's wearing PINK!!! I know it's because she doesn't have much hair but sheeeesh people...she's wearing PINK. A Boy? REALLY?? Gracen definitely looks like a little girl. Are her ears pierced? I've been told to pierce Kali's ears to make the distinction. *rolls eyes*
Sha Quay-Quay!!!!!!! HAaaa!
I know Grayson is a boy's name but I didn't think Gracen would be. Oh well, so's Ryan, lol.
Oh my gosh she has the sweetest little face.
It doesn't matter whether folk comment in real life or in a public forum that's her given name, and she's fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:13-16
When I look at her picture she looks like a girl to me. I love her name and never thought it was a boys names. Go figure.
