random acts of kindness

We are new to the area and I was trying to find our local post office. I got very frustrated because my husband kept telling me it's on our street just keep driving because he doesn't know the address. I have two kids in the car, I can't just keep driving and driving what is the landmark?  HE wasn't sure. On my way back into our housing development, I see a neighbor approaching the gate. I flag him down to ask where the post office was, he began to tell me and mentioned it's hard to see because it's sort of hidden and I might pass it, he said hey, it's out of my way but, follow me, I will show you where it is.
WOW!!! This guy took time out of his day to show me where the post office was. No wonder, I missed this place, it really is hidden in the back and there's only one little sign that says US Postal Service. LOL.
He pointed to the building then made a uturn at the light and kept on going. I didn't get a chance to get his name or find out where he lived here in the development. I was very grateful and I'm planning to do something random and nice for the next opportunity that possibly comes my way.
p.s. Ok, I told my friend the story and she said what if he was crazy and led me somewhere else.
UMMMMMM!!!! thanks a lot. i'm totally freaked out now. i didn't even think of that but, she's right. you never know. i would like to believe there are still nice people in this world.

Take it for what it was an act of kindness, a good neighbor, because if we always see the negative gods work just wont get done, hope you are getting settled in your new home and new state

What a nice deed.

I probably would not think anything about following him somewhere. I think our natural inclination is to trust folks, and in smaller communities you just don't think someone crazy is gonna take you somewhere and do something bad.
