Hello to all of our friends and family. This is a very LONG and OVERDUE greeting and update. I am running low on time so I will be sure to type as much as I can and try to catch up and update you as I go along on my blogging journey.
Here's a rundown of what has happened with our family in the past year.
Here goes:
January 2009
My husband received a promotion and subsequently military orders to change duty stations. The three places of choice:
Mississippi, Yuma Arizona, Pensacola Florida
We chose Pensacola Florida
February 2009
Husband sent to the East Cost (Virginia) for 3 weeks of training.
April 2009
My friends Kelli and Brianna hosted a fabulous baby shower.
May 2009
My friend Kristi along with our faith, family and friends group hosted another fabulous baby shower.
Gave birth to baby girl Gracen
June 2009
Danyelle announces that she would like to remain in California to try and make it on her own. I breakdown and find it hard to accept but, realizes it is the best decision for everyone.
July-August 2009
Our family decides it would be best that I along with the kids (Darrin and Gracen) move to my in laws home in Newark, NJ while Darrin (daddy) prepares for moving across country. I'm sure it would have been a really great adventure with driving across country with two little ones in the car, it made more sense to fly with the kids while Darrin drove from California to Florida. He made it to Florida safe and soundly in 2 days flat.
September 2009
Danyelle flies in to NJ to celebrate her 22nd birthday with all of our family and friends. The event was a blast!
Darrin also flew in to surprise his mom and dad for the event. What a great time for everyone.
We also requested the pastor to the event to have a family dedication over our children.
It was a magnificent time.
October 2009
We are finally reunited and move to our new home in Pensacola. There are BOXES everywhere. Just when you think there's progress, ANOTHER box shows up. I know, I know, take it one box at a time.
Thank you everyone for your love, support, prayers, generosity and kindness during this transition time. We could not have made it through these past few months without our family taking us in and pretty much spoiling me and the kids tremendously. While I very much miss everyone back home in New Jersey, our family has an amazing adventure ahead of us as we embark on this journey living on the East Coast in Pensacola, Florida.
We are very NEW to this area. We don't have any friends or family in the area as with all of our military moves but, trust and believe we will be just fine.
I am planning to do more posts to breakdown a lot of events that have taken place. Hopefuly I will be able to get to it. In the meantime, we are taking each day as it comes and trying to get through all these moving boxes. This is a very nice area and Danyelle will be contributing to the blog from California.
As you can see, Gracen and Darrin have made a great group of friends already.
Things are coming along just fine!
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time of transition. As you can imagine, my time dedicated to blogging has been reduced but, I am trying my best to get back in the swing of things.
What's going on with you?????

Hey lady! Thanks for the update! I'm glad you're settling in nicely. And tell Danyelle I said (in my best Wendy Williams voice) "Aw-riiiight!" I thought for SURE she would opt to go with the family. VERY brave of her to take a stab at making it on her own already. She'll be just fine!
Take great care (like I need to say that!) and keep in touch!
yeah I feel you on the "moving around the country" thing. We've moved alot also, but my hubby ain't military - he moves cuz he's offered more money. *chuckle* Have fun in "the sunshine state!!"
I've moved with a one year old and the boxes can be overwhelming. Commit to one room at a time and of course starting with the most important -- the kitchen. ;)
All the best in your new beginning and blessings to all.
“What's going on with you?????”
I'm homeschooling my daughter, and we both like it very much.
Hey chica...I am so glad to hear from you. I know Danyelle will do fine because I know you raised a fabulous, level-headed young lady. I do know someone in the Pensacola area and would be happy to put you in touch with her if you would like. Enjoy your new home.
As for what's going on with me, my personal life is great but I just found out a dear friend has lung cancer with inoperable brain metastases.
You know all of your dedicated readers have been on standby waiting on your return. Take your time with what you need to do for you and the family and the blogworld will patiently await your full return and as always you know you have my family's prayers and well wishes :-) xoxo
I was wondering where you had gone! I assumed it was due to you keeping up with the baby and DJ. Glad to hear you are settling into your new home and things are well!!
Glad to finally get an update on you guys. I was starting to wonder what happen to you! Sounds like you've had a busy summer. Hope all is well....enjoy sunny Florida!
Chica...you have had one helluva year. Congrats on all your blessings....and prayers for all your challenges. Thanks for sharing it all with us.
Wow! That's alot. Praying for your family, espeically Danyelle. I can understand you on her being there alone.
Okay, I was wondering what was going on here : )
Your daughter seems like a very sensible young lady, I suspect she'll do just fine. This is a big adjustment for ya'll. Whew.
We've been to Pensacola twice and really like the quiet laid back atmosphere, hope you like it there.
Welcome to the Gulf Coast, home of the hurricanes. (don't let that scare ya. :-)I'm sure the military has a good evac plan for you guys if need be) I am about 90 miles directly west of you in Moss Point, Mississippi.
Oh my word. I did wonder where you had disappeared to and now I know! Moving is such a nightmare, I am moving again at the end of the month. 8 moves in 5 years including 3 international moves. I am ready to put some roots down for a bit. Must have been a huge wrench for you to leave Danyelle but as you say, you guys have prepared her well to go out there and conquer the big wide world so I am sure she will be fine. I am also useless as far as US geography is concerned- I always thought that California and Florida were near to each other! Obviously not! Although the US is so massive it is hard for someone from the UK to fully understand the geography of it all. Anyway, I digress. Good luck with settling in. Can`t believe that both DJ and Joey are nearly 5. How ridiculously fast is time flying by?! ;-)
I was WONDERING where you've been. Many blessings to you and all the new changes in your life.
I am so late to the party!! I'm praying for you!!
