Getting a late start.

Getting my day started a little later than usual. Gracen decided at 10:30pm last night, she would rather stay up smiling and blowing bubbles as if it was 2 in the afternoon. I kindly took her into her room, gave her a kiss, put her in the crib, turned on the night light, turned the baby monitor down to 1 and closed the door. She better stop playing. I need my sleep.

It is so cool that she will go down by herself. Although since you turned down the monitor I am curious about how quietly she went down!

How did that work? Did she cry? I used to be able to put Jay down, and off she would go. Now she'll cry for about five minutes. And then, she'll be up at 2 and beyond, ready to play.

She's used to going down in her crib awake. She usually cries for a little bit. She only gets to fuss for about a minute per her age. For instance, she's 5 months, I won't allow her to cry longer than 5 minutes. I am in tune with her cues. She's a very easy and laid back baby. If she's fussy or not sleepy, I don't force it. She's predictable and only cries if she's hungry, wet or irritated. Most times she just prefers to be on the floor mat and other times she prefers to be held. It's a work in progress.

Oh, I also wanted to add, things are better with our kids sleeping in their own beds. Co-sleeping with 2 kids for us is NOT fun. They are wild sleepers! LOL
