Marriage is bloody hard work and it takes two hands to clap. Having said that, marriage is a commitment so no matter what, you need to try your damnest in working it out; so make sure you have all your short, medium and long term goals discussed and agreed upon. :-)
I agree with Big Pumpkin. I don't think that everybody realizes that marriage is work- all the time. Both of you are constantly growing and changing and you have to work to keep it together. Three C's to a successful marriage/relationship:
If asked, I'd tell them not to get too caught up in planning the wedding (or princess for a day, as I like to call it) and to make sure they are planning for the marriage. After all, the wedding is just a few hours in one day while marriage is (or should be) a lifetime commitment.
Trust each other, always, even when you think the other is making a mistake. There's nothing worse than having a spouse who's unsupportive. Thereby, making room for discord and confusion in your relationship. Marriage, like faith, comes with many tests proving how committed and faithful you are. I pray that the love you share will carry you through each one. Oh, and the most important advice…TRUST GOD who brought you together!
