Take a picture of the ones you don't love and toss them. I make photobooks of my kids art and they think that's supercool. I do have a couple of jellyfish hanging in my kitchen that will probably be there forever, though.
Just keep those select few that are really good and chuck the rest! Having said that we have 4 large folders filled with Tee's work but believe me, we've chucked 10 times that! Alternatively, photograph them as a digital document, then at least you still have memory of it but it doesn't take up physical space!
I felt really bad about getting rid of Christopher's school crafts. I have most of them but I HAD to get rid of some. I did take photos of them before I threw them in the trash though. They were just taking up too much room. Room that we don't have
I try and keep a few "key pieces" per year, per kid- in a box - if I could stick to the "gather on the sofa, take a pic, and toss- (ideal) routine", it would all be bliss!

***FOREVER***FOREVER***FOREVER.
My mom kept ALL me and my brother stuff as we grew up. She has a large box in the attic where it's stored. I just turned 25 and he going on 23.
I am now starting my box for The Man's stuff.
Yep. Forever. I say that now as a child who thinks her mother should keep everything I ever touched and cherish it.
Get back to me when I'm a mother with a bunch of "art".
I have 5 boxes of Tylers stuff I kept and he is 19 now and Alexis will be working on her 3rd box when she goes back to school in the fall

At least till the kids are grown and can see that you kept them. After getting your praise then you can toss them ;)
I ask myself that a lot too! I hate throwing any of it away but when I get in my cleaning mood all I want to do is throw out things!! =\

I'm 32 and my mother still has the tin foil ornament I made in VBS back in 87. LOL

organizers say take a picture of them and have the kid pick their fave one or 2 each year and discard the rest.

We frame some, we have a box called the art box, and the rest gets chucked.
