set it and forget it
Set the Baby Monitor on in the bedroom, went to the front of the house and FORGOT to turn on the receiver. Needless to say (after laundry and breakfast) when I finally remembered to turn it on, the baby was SCREAMING! Please, tell me I'm NOT the only one this has happened to! *sigh, sigh*

BTDT...it happens to all of us my friend.
I did that just last night so don't feel bad! We faintly heard Willie crying out for us! lol! Happens to all of us normal moms :)
