When Pregnancy Cravings drives your family and friends a little bonkers.

I was asked about cravings during this pregnancy. I was a bit vague when I mentioned I didn't have any crazy cravings. While I haven't craved pickles dipped in ice cream or anything off the wall. I have been hit with random bouts of I JUST HAVE TO HAVE THIS NOW OR I WILL HAVE A TANTRUM RIGHT NOW type of cravings.

For instance, I LOVE LOVE sliced (Gala ONLY) apples with raisins. One time my husband brought home Pink Lady Apples and said I should just try them, I might like them. I am a one trick pony. I shun change.

Apples are DELICIOUS!!! You can best bet these are my all time favorite snacks. One time I forgot my sliced apples in my bag and they turned brown (I forgot to put the lemon juice on them) well, I was so hungry, I ate them brown and all. Talk about desperate! HaHa!

Last month, I craved candied apples. It started off as a simple thought and developed into a mass text message fest. Texts went out to my top 5 mom friends who ALWAYS have their phones with them and are trusted to respond within lightening speed.

Within 2 minutes, I had a listing of places that I could get the already made apples! My friend Briana went as far as calling the place to double check they in fact had the specific type of apples I was craving.

One of my friends suggested I go to the grocery store to get the kit and make my own. Yeah, OK. NO.

Turns out the one place Briana called was very close to my home but, was blocked off because of the antique car show. THE NERVE! I drove up to the road and there were police directing traffic about 4 blocks down the road. I thought to park and waddle down to the store, looked in the rearview mirror and DJ was sleeping soundly. I could try and put him on my back and walk to get the apples! NAH!!! SCRATCH that.

So I did what any wife would do, I texted my husband to see if he was already in town from work and if he could pick the apples up for me. He said SURE! I'll get right on it. Turns out, he was 2 exits away! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!!

I kind of left out the part that he would have to park and walk about 4 blocks to get it.

Hee Hee.

Needless to say within 30 minutes, I was presented with the following:

Now the strawberries were an EXTRA bonus and a very delightful surprise. I didn't share ONE morsel with anyone. I think they knew not to even ask.

Fast forward to the next week. I was craving some chinese food. Vegetable Egg Rolls dipped in the sweet and sour red sauce, chicken fried rice and.......well, you see where I'm going with this. My husband said he could do a way better job than that PF Chang guy could any day of the week.

CHALLENGE!

Well, this is as far as I got with taking the pictures:

I was standing at the stove with my plate and fork and barely allowed my food to cool off. AGAIN, I growled when I was informed that I should at least share with my son. You know the kid that hangs out with me all day. Oh, ok, sure I'll share! HaHa!

Thank you Sweetie for putting up with me. I know there are somedays you just want to..................
I'll just leave it at that.

In your famous words that completely grosses our daughter out:

'85-Life BABY!!!!!!!!!!!

Question: Did you have any wild and crazy cravings during your pregnancy?  What about your parents?

what a fun post!! I think I was hooked on those Minute Maid frozen soft lemonades in raspberry lemon. Also I had to have thai red chicken curry extra saucy extra spicy no bell peppers at least twice a week. I had to quit the extra spicy part in the last 2 months though :) Gosh, your apple and strawberries looked so yummy! When I was expecting they all knew better than to ask for any of what I was having. They knew not to even look my way!! lol!

Oh girl I remember that revenous feeling, like if you don't have it NOW you might just cry! LOL With Mica I was all about the choco-tacos, and Paul would indulge me at 1am at our local liquor store. The owner finally asked him, do you have a pregnant wife? LOL!

I would ask you to share your yummy treats but I know better. Take food from a pregnant woman and they turn into snarling fanged scurry monsters!

Your hubby is the best!

No unusual or unexpected cravings for me, but I did make many dishes from the cooking channel. ;)

I must be expecting my own set of octuplets, because when I get a craving, usually junk food, NOTHING will stop me. Usually, I can wait a little bit for something like a cheeseburger or pizza or something like that, but when it comes to chicken fingers, I will RING THE ALARM!!! It is no joke--when I want chicken fingers, I want them NOWWWW. It is a chicken EMERGENCY.

...and now try to guess what I'm off to buy?!

I blame the next 5 pounds I gain on you.
