The other night DJ said he was hungry. This is very RARE. My son is a very PICKY eater and food is usually the last thing on his mind.
I thought it was too late to eat but, daddy says hey if the boy is hungry let him eat.
I asked him what he wanted and he proceeded to name all these food items.
DJ: I want chicken, rice and soy sauce, then I want broccoli and cheese with milk in my cup then I want......
Slow your roll little boy.
Narrow down your choices.
DJ: I want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without the peanut butter.
See, I told you he was picky. Well, he inhaled the sandwich, drank his glass of milk then announced he wanted another one.
UMMMMMMMMM! NO. You had one.
Daddy said, let the boy eat.
So I gave him another sandwich and wouldn't you know he ate the entire sandwich.
I was in shock. Is it possible that the boy was hungry all day and avoided all his meals to save up for 2 raggedy jelly sandwiches?
True, it might not have been the most nutritious but, I have to say, he was a happy camper after he ate then announced that he wanted to sleep in our room.
Look here little boy, I know that I just returned from Disney World where all your dreams come true but, I stop short at the sandwich requests. Into your bed you will go tonight.
Mommy loves you. Wipe the tears, we'll see you at 3am when you usually sneak into our room!
Hah.

Cute. I know I should be thankful that Joey isn't a picky eater but that child eats ALL the time. I try my hardest to fill him up with healthy stuff but he is constantly hungry!
i used to love jam (jelly) sandwiches when I was younger- DJ has good taste!!
Maybe more proof that he is getting older. Soon he will be eating you out of house and home! ;)
By the way, I leave out the PB too. I just add cream cheese cause I'm a fatty :)
DJ is a growing boy! Nothing wrong with some raggedy jelly samiches! lol!
Jelly sandwiches were all I would eat when i was little, to this day I still will not eat peanut butter
That DJ is such a little man - he sounds a lot like two little men who live in my home.
haha I LOVE DJ!
p.s. ash isn't allowed in our room either! =)
LOL!!
If he's anything like my son was, the older he gets the bigger his appetite will grow.
Giiiiirl...I hate to break it to ya but ummm...
YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET!!!
Hey there!
I agree with your husband that children SHOULD be given food if they SAY they are hungry and you realize that they really HAVE NOT eaten in a while.
Children should NOT have to beg for food when they are hungry and I know some children who show up in church LOOKING very hungry and that is a shame...especially when mom looks like she just got her hair done the day before!!
Some kids will say they are hungry and they are actually bored but parents KNOW the difference.
I don't think jelly sandwiches are not nutritious...well...it depends on whether you buy the blended fruit spread or the jar of purple sugar mixed with chemicals! *LOL*
Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!
Lisa
He sounds like he's entering a growth spurt. I hope you have a full pantry!
