The corporate offices at Burger King sent samples of their brand new BK Apple Fries and a gift card to try out their new BK Mac & Cheese kids meal.
From the corporate office:
The new Burger King Kids Meal is only 350 calories and includes Kraft Mac & Cheese, low-fat milk and the brand-new BK Fresh Apple Fries. BK Fresh Apple Fries are fresh-cut, skinless red apples sliced to resemble real fries and are served with a low-fat caramel dipping sauce. It’s a great way for kids to get a daily serving of dairy and half a cup of fruit into their diets.
My son LOVED the mac & cheese meal and the apple fries.
To my readers:
I have some really great news!
I am giving away TWO Burger King Gift Cards* to my winning readers.

But we do love Burger King when we are in town!
I have a 3 year old. For breakfast, we eat cereal during the week and eggs and bacon on the weekends.
For lunch, we have chicken salad or chicken nuggets or something of the like with (usually) green beans or apple sauce.
For supper, since it's summer--we grill--steaks, pork chops, chicken legs, whatever.
Breakfast - during the week cereal or waffles. On weekends eggs and bacon or pancakes.

Thanks for the great giveaway :)
For breakfast the kids usually have cereal or scones that I make about twice a week in the summer since we have fresh fruit coming out of our ears. Plus skim milk and they're set.
I....usually skip breakfast, dont tell lol
For lunch we also usually do sandwiches or wraps. always turkey or chicken, plus cheese and cucumbers and tomatoes (also coming out our ears this time of year).
For dinner, tonight, we are having fried chicken. From a chicken we raised ourselves. From a baby :( Thankfully, he had turned into a mean ol' rooster and it's easier to eat him after he's attacked you a couple times lol I'm planning red potatoes and green beans with the chicken, then tonight we'll be having chicken and dumplings (another of our mean chickens lol)
The kids snack on our golden plums or blueberries right now, and in a couple weeks it'll be tons of apples. If 1 a day keeps the doc away, then 3 a day should be great! lol
I'm so glad BK is offering fun and healthier meals now.

Well, we don't have kids yet. So I guess I will just post what we eat for lunch.
We both eat Honey Bunches of Oats (or any other cereal we have around that is hopefully not too too sugary.) & english muffins. My husband sometimes eats a yogurt.
For lunch I eat either PBJ or grilled cheese on whole wheat bread. Sometimes a plum or grapes with it. My husband (he works & I make his lunch) eats some pretty random stuff. If I make him a PB sandwich, he will have a yogurt with it, as well as a mix I make of craisins, raisins & golden raisins, a granola bar & either some sort of fruit or cucumber (he loves cucumbers.) Sometimes the sandwich is switched out for whatever leftovers we might have. He also has pretzels with his lunch a lot.
For supper. Well we have lots of different stuff. Tonight we are having a recipe from my favourite cooking site allrecipes.com called Creamy Vegetable Cheese Soup. Salad will go with that & garlic bread.

My girls would eat pasta any time of the day - every day, but we try to offer more variety :)
They are not very hungry in the mornings, so they nibble on cereal (dry) or have it with milk; for lunch the little one likes soup, and the oldest would rather have mac and cheese or a hot dog. They would snack all day on fruit and veggies (I looove summer for this!) and not eat much in the evening - like a cereal bar with milk, or... well, pasta :)
Today's menu looks something like this
Breakfast
cereal(lucky charms) for older kids
yogurt for the 2 yr old
Lunch
can tuna w/ mayo and relish
wheat thins
baby carrots
Dinner
hamburgers(homemade)
asparagus
noodles
Snacks
they can have pick of oranges, bananas, nectarines and peanut butter crackers
Breakfast- I'm not too picky as long as they drink milk with it.
Lunch-something simple, sandwich, pasta, etc
Supper- meat, juice and try to get some vegetables down the kids.
Thanks
Our daughter is only 3 months old, so for now, she eats...me! Which is why it's that much more important for me to eat healthy.
For breakfast and lunch, we each fend for ourselves due to our drastically different schedules. I try to buy fruit as snacks, and I make a conscious effort to keep junk food out of the house. For dinner, I have a menu plan that I follow.
I pick recipes that are healthy and nutritious, and also easy to make. When it comes to actually cooking, I like to sneak in vegetables everywhere since my husband hates veggies. Oh well...at least I'm getting plenty of practice for when my daughter announces she hates veggies. If I can fool a grown man, I'll be able to fool a 3 year old!
Breakfast:
oatmeal or cereal and fruit
milk
Lunch:
sandwich or leftovers
fruit or veggie
milk
Snack:
granola bar, fruit or a homemade treat
Dinner:
Whatever we eat.
Meat, veggie, rice or potato, etc

Love this contest. BK would be a real treat!

She loves the apple dippers at McDonalds (the only thing she'll eat there, besides at the one that sells bananas, which she'll also eat), so I think she'd like the mac and cheese meal with apple fries.
