Everyday, I open the windows and raise the blinds to let air and sunlight in. Look at my son!
Let's hope he continues to LOVE to clean. He's on a mission. He's getting much much better at making his bed. He knows to pull the covers up to the headboard. His job is to keep the toys OFF the floor after play time and vacuum once a week. Daddy put up a hook on his wall for backpacks and his hat. This way he knows where to put them instead of just throwing them down on the floor when he comes home.
I've found the younger you start them with helping out, the more they'll want to help and won't look at it as a forced thing to do. I'm looking into making a chart for him to keep track of the chores he does and he will get rewards for them. NOT MONEY. I won't start that. Little prizes here and there will be fine.
Question; What are some of the chores your child(ren) enjoy doing? Do you have a reward system? Please share your tips.

Awww...look at him! That's what's up! Go DJ! I don't have kids, but whenever my niece and nephew visit, I make sure they clean up. I've been doing that since they were about three or four. My nephew is still lazy, though.
Christopher loves to vacuum also. I wonder how long it will take him to realize it's actually work? hehehe... His teacher also told me he loves to and is great at cleaning up the classroom. Hmmm....He is usually good at home too so it shouldn't surprise me. He makes his bed most times and helps me unpack the dishwasher.
Alyssa tries to help fold clothes but it's pointless. She makes more work for me. She is the lazy one in here. We call her "Lazy Lyssa" She loves to vacuum though. You should see them fight for the vacuum!
Christopher finally understands that in order for him to play with his toys he has to clean them up after. He has lost toys before because he didn't take me seriously.
I was thinking of a rewards system also but one is not in place yet. I figure the praising was good enough. So once you come up with one let me know.
Awwww he is too cute!!!!
My oldest is 12 and she does the dishes and her laundry as well as the laundry for my 8 and 6 year old.
My 8 year old daughter, makes sure all the clothes are in the baskets they belong in and she puts hers away. It's also her job to sweep the dining room.
My son is 6 and he vacuums and helps fold the towels and sheets (which is really funny to watch).
"I" clean the bathrooms lol.
I don't have a reward system in place would love to see what some of your other readers come up with.
I would like to borrow DJ once a week please ;)
Awww, look at my baby concentrating.
My littel guy lieks to take the trash out of every can and put it atthe door to take out. He will vacuum but only seems to stay in one spot.
How cute! Look at DJ go! LOL!! My kids used to love doing chores and now that they are older, uh let's just say that they are CHORES! What we do in our house is a chart of who does what on shich day. Now some days i give them a break if they have major school related things to do. Otherwise my kids do not get an allowance of the monetary sense. They however get an allowance of "you are allowed to live here and not pay bills, have a safe place to sleep, food, clothing and all the essentials with the occasional wants." They are expected to do their part. Sounds fair to me!
We're still working on cleaning up the toy messes. Go DJ!
DD is 4 and is really good at folding laundry and loves it.
We just started this thing where she has 4 things she does during the week:
Help with laundry
Make sure the cat has food
Clean up toys
Help set the table at dinner
She will get $4 a week. $1 goes to church and $1 goes to savings. If she wants something from the store, she has to get it with her money.
As she gets older and can do more, those tasks will become expected and will not be part of the allowance/commission.
I hope the love for chores continues in my household too! I don't have any set chores for my 4 y/o but now that you mention it I probably should start instead of just having him help with random chores.
He's too cute!
