I would say," You must be getting ready to get off. Just leave the broom i'll clean up proper after we finished here. Lock up and everything for ya! " I would laugh and say," Sike Ya Mind! Seriously though you mind coming back after when we finished?" ROFL
simply ask them (with as little bit of attitude as I can suppress) if they could sweep after we are done eating... (and please Lord don't let them give me attitude, that would not be good!!)

This has happened sooooooooooooo many times to me. I think it's 'cuz of the kids. I just ignore them. Should I do something else?

Oh law. I would tell the person, "Excuse, me could you wait until we are finished? I am sure my 10 month old will throw something else on the floor."
I would nicely ask them to stop. After giving them the fuzzy eyebrow. LOL
