Why else would she do this to her face?

I am so torn on this topic. I love her so much and I want so much for her. She's the most beautiful daughter in the world too. On one hand, she's a grown woman and can make her own decisions on what to do with her body. On the other hand, she still lives under my roof and I have made a request that she not wear it around me. Turns out she's able to stuff it in her nostril to keep it out of sight for work.
Well, treat me like your job, I don't want to see it and if I see it, I will FREAK out and put you on punishment. Wait, she's almost 21. I have to come up with another consequence. Hah!
Question: Do you have any body piercings? What are your thoughts on body piercing?

Sorry I had to laugh at myself. I am most definitely getting old as I saw that pic and thought "good god, I hope that isn't real!" LOL! Definitely in my 30s now!! It wasn't so long ago that I was horrifying my own Mum with new piercings (although I never did my nose!!) I had the top of my ear pierced which she HATED but I loved and would do again but I did a deal with my parents that they left me alone about it as long as I took it out when I graduated from uni and started interviewing for "proper" jobs. I also had my belly button pierced when I was 22 and have to admit that I am seriously considering getting it done again if I reach my WW goal weight. We will see though as I do want more kids and can't imagine having a pierced belly button while pregnant. The scar is actually the only place I have a stretch mark from when I was pregnant with Joey- not nice!!
It's not that bad! Stuff it in her nostril???
ok so this comment is coming from a 21 year old...yea I know what you're thinking! lol
My b-day is Tuesday and I plan to get a tattoo. But I'd rather have my naval pierced. Not sure which one I want to get done yet.
ok, everyone that has posted are my dear friends, imma need ya'll to pray for me. this situation is going to drive me to drink the devil's juice come next week!
Patron here I come. *sigh*
Funny you posted his today. Just the other day my 19 yr old said that she wanted to pierce the side of her nose and I said, why don't you just get a bull ring and I'll drag you by it! I can't really forbid hereven though we do aabide by the "As long as you live with us" rules. This isn't something that we can actually forbid. I do, however, tell her how I feel every chance I get. Since telling her that boogers would be comin out from the side of her nose did not work, I also brought up the subject in front of my mom and she definitely got an earfull there (Evil Grin)
Good LAWD! Stuff it up her nostil? What?????
mommmmmm.awww.
i KNOW! you hate it. but i really really like it.
i got it for a bunch of reasons.
you know i love jewlry-like i wont leave the house without earrings/bracelet/or necklace.
i dont have the stomach for a belly ring. i have a cute little button nose so i thought it would look nice
EVERYONE! has their lip/nose ring and i didnt want something that would hinder me in a job interview. so when i heard you could flip it up it really appealed to me.
i usually just wear it when we go to parties or that 80's club and it sets me apart from the crowd.
and you know i never wear it around
you-b/c i kow you'd want you to rip it out!
lol
*oh and its a great conversation piece!
hahaa.
I have my ears and tongue pierced. I used to have my nose pierced but I took it out for my old job. I've given some thought to getting it pierced again...
I have my navel pierced now. At one point I had piercings in my eyebrows. Had to take them out because every time my Daddy saw me he thought something was on my eye and attempted to pull them out! Then did the whole Fred Sanford calling Elizabeth routine.
She looks cute with it! But I understand where you are coming from.
i have a nose ring. a really tiny stud. when i was skinny and cute i had a belly ring...but now nobody wants to see that!
I don't have anything piercing but I know a few people that do. My hubby and his twin have their ears done, my brother has nose and ears done, my cousin has her tongue pierced, my 14 has 2 holes in her ears and wants another, my 9 and 5 year old each have their ears pierced, 3 of my uncles and my dad have their ears pierced too. Wheww!! That's a lot ain't it? I do like piercings on some people though. Pixie from L.A. Ink has piercings right where her dimples are and it looks really cute. But I am not sure how I would react if any of my kids got their tongue, belly button, or eyebrow pierced. It would take me some time before I could look at them without cringing.
I'm so not looking forward to this with my daughter!
I pierced my nose when I was 15 and my mother hated it. Besides the nose, I have two holes in each ear and I recently added 1 below the waist piercing which I LOVE!
OK, you are not alone in this. I don't really like a lot of the piercings I've seen on the youth of today. However, my daughter (17yrs old) has her nose pierced. For her 16th birthday we (Daddy and I) took her to get it done. Why? because I remember my aunts and my moms friends having them and i didn't think it was that bad. But, since getting it done and having a small, diamond stud in her nose she has gone on to a hoop. I can't stand it....she has messed up the whole look for me and I tell her everyday but, I think thats why she keeps it in. What do I do? We will get through this...lol
I just noticed this post. I cringe the thought. My daughter is almost 18 and she has hinted at her possible body markings. *sigh*
HaHaHaHa!!!
sorry, I know it is not funny to you but I am tripping off of the stuff it in her nostril, that is hilarious!!
You've seen my picture, I am 41 & I have a pierced eyebrow that I love! I also have a tattoo (that I will actually be posting about tomorrow!).
as for your daughter, I don't particularly like the placement of the ring, I would rather she got a stud or something small on the side of the nose but hey that is her expression of self and I can respect that.... don't like it, but I can respect it!
As long as she has a plan for work, because that would have been my argument, what about your job? but she got that covered so...
I am even prepared to remove my eyebrow ring... ONLY if absolutely necessary for work!
but hey she could be doing a thousand other, worse things!!
Oh BTW - about your title "She's Killing Me Slowly!"....
stop it, it's not even about you!!!
Blessings!
Hahhahahaha! Laughing at you and not with you! My babies are still little, so I'm gonna crack up while I can! In daughters defense... It really looks cute on her, and its someting that she can remove and/or hide if need be. And I have pierced something before...but I took it out when I was pregnant. I LOVE piercings!
